Our story
I created this website mainly to show you my little labrador dog Callie, but also the recent passion that I discovered for the use of dogs.
Everything started in 2007 by a tragic event, the death of our first dog when he was in the prime of age. A reversal of the stomach while we were traveling suddenly took Pitchoun far from our hearts. The grief was immense and I did not want more a dog. Some time later, the void left by his absence and the deafening quiet that prevailed in our house made ??us still looking for a new companion. My girlfriend was really attached to the labrador it is to this breed that we turned. One criterion for me: it has to be different from Pitchoun which was a yellow male labrador male with no pedigree.
Just by chance, we came across a black bitch of 3 months at Miss Sandrine Semonin (Sandie Landes). We have checked that the parent hip's radios were good, because Pitchoun was severely hit by dysplasia. The contact was well and we fell in love with this black fur ball without even suspecting she would take us far.
Some education courses in Kennel Club later, the dog is dynamic and seems to understand very quickly. She succeed her 1st degree of obedience at 1 year old. Then we try other activities and this is where we discover that we can pass the TAN (Natural Ability Test). After an evaluation day spent in the Landes’ forest, we have confirmation that she can succeed. We went to a special retriever's day organized by the Retriever Club de France (RCF) at La Pomarède. Callie was 9 months old when she obtained her TAN.
It is also this day that we met a guy which will change our view of the labrador. This guy was a bit gruff, always followed by two or three Golden Retriever especially attentive to his moves. He explains us the work of the hunting retriever and he proposes to initiate us. After 2 or 3 trainings I decided to take drive Callie, Marie dealing with obedience. So we started the training at the age of 12 months. First dog in an activity whose purpose was not yet very clear for me, I made some mistakes. Working alone most of the time was difficult but Callie is a dynamic dogs which learned me a lot and do not take in account my errors. A year later, we obtained the selective B, but the level is still low for Field Trial competitions and above all I need to see the reality of the work. The season ran and I wanted to try. I decided to engage in the field trial of Aigues-Mortes. Callie appreciates particularly this swamp lands and won her first CACT ... not bad for a first contest! The season ended and we leave plenty of motivation for training.
After a well deserved rest and a lot of trainings, we attack the 2010/2011 season which will evaluate the work done. Callie gets the title Field trial Champion in French presentation (3 CACT) and Trialer in English presentation. Moreover, she won with a CACT the 2nd day of the competition with 12 other dogs in English presentation.
I hope I could still tell the stories of this little dog and maybe even his descendants since we decided to take an affix, which, in honor of our first companion is called "Les Heritiers de Pitch".
If we can give as much happiness as we have with Callie, this will be a great reward!
